Important Considerations for Logpoint Agent

  • The lpagent.conf file under C:\Program Files (x86)\lpagent\conf have 0.0.0.0 in Listen, 7994 in Port and TCP in SocketType in the <Extension agent_managment> tag.

  • The changes made to the Logpoint Agent for Windows configurations get updated in the configuration file in the Windows device every time you manually push the configurations.

  • If there is communication breakdown between Logpoint Agent Collector and Logpoint Agent for Windows:

    1. Make sure the configuration in the Logpoint for Windows agent is in TCP mode. If the Logpoint Agent for Windows is in TLS mode, re-install the agent.

    2. Delete the corresponding agent device in Logpoint.

    3. Add a new device for the agent in Logpoint.

  • While using Snapshot or Backup and Restore features of Logpoint, issues of certificates mismatch or state mismatch between Logpoint Agent Collector and Logpoint Agent for Windows may occur. In such cases, we recommend you to download the certificates and configuration from Logpoint Agent Collector, copy them to Logpoint Agent for Windows manually, and restart the services. Alternatively, you can follow the communication breakdown recovery steps as provided above.
